Week 2 12/7-12/11
This week our focus is on basketball skills.
You will need: a ball that bounces and a basketball net or a laundry basket to shoot into.
Go to SEESAW to work on the basketball rubrics.
You will need to complete 3 rubrics: Dribbling basic or Dribble Advanced rubric (one rubric for dribbling must be completed), Passing rubric, and Shooting basic or Shoot advanced rubric (one rubric for shooting must be completed).
All the rubrics must be completed by 12/10, Thursday.

This week we did our workout then discussed our final assignment for the soccer unit. We will be creating a 2-3 minute commercial on your soccer coach skills.
This week we are ONLY working on the brainstorming portion. Go to your SEESAW for the full assignment. Your brainstorm (picture above) is due the day before you see me next week.

This week we are working on shooting a soccer ball. We are using the inside of our foot to shoot at our goal. You will need a ball (balled up socks works too), 3 place markers (shoes, books, markers...) and a large box or laundry basket.

Your lesson for the week is to watch both videos and Respond with a 1-2 minute video on Seesaw.
You will video yourself completing the soccer shooting activities about 10-20 times in a 1-2 minute video. (This is due the day before you have PE Class next week)

This week we are working on passing a soccer ball. We can use the inside and outside of either foot and our shoelaces to pass a ball accurately. Click here to watch our Soccer Passing video for the assignment this week.
There are 12 different drills on the video, you need to choose 4 of them to do 50 times each. The drills get harder as they go, so soccer players may want to choose the more difficult drills (7-12) and non soccer players may want to choose the easier drills (1-6).
Pick 4 drills and do each one 50 times each

2. Left foot - 1 touch
3. Right foot - 2 touch
4. Left foot - 2 touch
5. Inside-Outside-Inside- pass
6. Two touch- Inside across cone

This assignment should take you about 10-20 minutes to complete. You will need a ball that rolls and a cone or just a maker that you can put in place of a cone like a book or a shoe. Ask your parents if you can kick the ball against the couch or a wall outside or if you should use a partner to complete these drills.

Here is a video of 3 baseball/softball grounder drills.
Each drill can be done by yourself with a ball that will bounce off of a wall. (A tennis ball works great). You need:

- Tennis ball (or another bouncy ball)
- Find a wall that your PARENTS are okay with your throwing a ball against or have a partner toss to you
- Do each drill at least 25 times (view the video to see what form to focus on)
Watch this "How to catch a fly ball" video then try tossing to your self or have a partner toss 25 fly balls to you. You can use any kind of smaller ball and you can use a glove or not.

Volleyball skills are the focus this week. We will practice passing (bump or forearm pass) and setting (over hand pass). There is a video and picture to go along with each skill and an activity at the end of each video.
You will need: Space (maybe a backyard), a ball (volleyball, large rubber ball, balloon, or soccer ball).

Week of May 4-8
Overhand throwing is a skill used in baseball and softball. Using proper form can help prevent injury and increase accuracy and power.

Week of April 27-May 1
This week our lesson is on bowling. Bellow is a review of the steps to bowling.
Now to try the bowling activity with your own supplies at home. You will need 10 "pins" (water bottles, plastic cups or paper towel/toilet paper rolls), a ball (soccer ball, tennis ball, rubber ball or balled up socks work too) and you will need a little space. Check out some of the examples below.
Bowl a game with your family or by yourself. Set your pins up just like the picture above. You get 2 turns to knock down all the "pins." For each turn record the number of "pins" you knocked down then after the second turn stand them all back up.
Have a friend make their own bowling pins at home and you can challenge each other over the phone and record your scores online.
