Week 10 11/11 to 11/17
This week our focus is on balance. Balance is what holds us upright and allows us to sit or walk with out falling over. Our muscles are very important when we balance, they control our body and help us to stay still and not wobble.

Week 9 11/4-11/10
This week we focused on locomotor and nonlocomotor skills. Locomotor skills are when we move in different ways to travel to a new location (Running, jumping, galloping, walking and crab walking are just a few examples. Nonlocomotor skills are when we move our bodies, but don't end up in a new location (bending, pushing, pulling and twisting are a few examples)

This week we are working on pathways and levels. Moving in low, medium and high levels is part sport and dance. Traveling in straight, zigzag, and curved pathways are also important in dance and sports.
You will need to create pathways using chalk, tape, 3 towels, 10 books or 10 pieces of paper.

This week you have a choice between overhand throwing or catching activities.

You will need: A sock ball, a chair, a piece of paper or paper plate, tape and 2 towels.
Or try these catching challenges that you can do by yourself.
You will need a soft ball or soft item to toss.
If you have someone that can toss a soft ball or something soft to you try this fielding drill.

Striking is a term used to in Physical Education. Striking is when you use an implement (hand, foot, bat, hockey stick ...) to contact an object (baseball, tennis ball...) with a controlled hit. Here are some examples of thing you can strike an object with.
For this striking activity you will need an empty paper towel roll or toilet paper roll or you could use a soft ball/toy if you don't have either of those things.

Week of May 18-22
Here is a video about passing a volleyball or bumping. Watch how the hands are placed. The flat part of your arms are the spot you want to pass the ball at. You can use a balloon or any kind of squishy ball to practice your volleyball skills.

Week of April 27-May 1
This week our lesson is on bowling. Below are the steps to bowling. Remember to use the hand that you write with to roll the ball at the pins.
Now to try the bowling activity with your own supplies at home. You will need 10 "pins" (water bottles, plastic cups or paper towel/toilet paper rolls), a ball (soccer ball, tennis ball, rubber ball or balled up socks work too) and you will need a little space (Check with your parents). Check out some of the examples.
Bowl a game with your family or by yourself. You can use either button below to record your score (the blue button takes you right to an online score sheet and adds your score up for you! Easy!). In bowling you have 10 pins and you set them up in a triangle, just like the picture above. You get 2 turns to knock down all the "pins." For each turn record the number of "pins" you knocked down then after the second turn stand them all back up.
Share a 30-60 second video of you doing the activity on Flipgrid. Code is on its learning.

This week we will be practicing some locomotor skills that we have used during the school year: jumping, hoping and leaping. Look at the pictures below to remind you how to perform these locomotor skills.
Now that you remember how to jump, hop and leap lets play a game called Locomotor Shapes! You will need chalk to make your shapes on a driveway or small area of black top. Check out the link below for how to play with your family or by yourself!

The file below is a fitness activity using the letters in a word. Use different words or sentences to create a work out. Words to try: School, Physical Education, Fun, Ms. Wiedyk, (Your First, Middle, Last Name), I miss my teachers! HaHa Or try any you want to come up with.
